It’s a funding issue. In Alberta, my kid’s classes have 20+ students. All in-class right now, unable to social distance, fewer teachers this year due to less funding from last year, and nothing but excuses form the government. Same in Ontario. And that’s the viewpoint that gets Donald Trump elected. I’m a little bit skeptical that this is actually happening and if it is, that it isn’t just a temporary situation. School just started literally 2 days ago in Ontario.

From what I’m A Tattooed Indigenous Woman Just Like A Normal Indigenous Woman Except Much Cooler Shirt I’ve read, Ontario has or is in the process of hiring a lot more school staff. Some do care and don’t care about the money, mainly because, in my state, they don’t get paid anything. They get to keep maybe 10-15k a year after taxes, and most of that goes back into classrooms or food and bills. After all of that, they are left with maybe 3-5 thousand. Idk about other states though True, wish I had my geography teacher from my previous year, he was fucking great and so enthusiastic about teaching us about the world, cool dude all around.
