You can still play sports, still be active, still live a normal life like every other kid, but you are immediately shunned from armed services. I know all this from experience, lived with asthma my whole life and even though I couldn’t enlist I could still do all the sports and activities anybody else could. Just always have to make sure I have my emergency inhaler just in case, even though it’s rarely needed. All these posts comparing playing a sport to being in the service seem to be posted by people who have done neither, and certainly not both.

I was in the New York Giants 95Th Anniversary 1925-2020 Thank You For The 1Memories Signatures Shirt marching band and had an active childhood. I’ve had asthma since I was a baby. I was not allowed to join the Air Force to become a fighter pilot like I always wanted to because of it. Stop grasping at straws. You can lead an active lifestyle with asthma, but you can’t serve in the military at all with it. David Beckham, Dennis Rodman, Jerome Bettis, none of them despite being accomplished athletes in their respective sports would have been able to serve in the military because of their varying levels of the severeness of asthma. Seriously, this is bordering on conspiracy theory levels of stupid.
