World of Lou Brock 06 18 1939-09 06 2020 The Man The Myth The Legend Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt Warcraft. Sure, the graphics get a slight bump every now and then. But it really hasn’t changed much in 15 years and it still has millions of players. Deep Rock Galactic is a perfect modern example of what you’re looking for. Models are purposefully low poly and stylized. Graphically, it’s not impressive. However, the gameplay is genuinely impressive and so finely tuned. I have 500 hours in the game and am still playing it. For those that don’t know it, it’s space dwarves mining a broken planet fighting off big bugs the whole time. Think Minecraft meets starship troopers.

Company of Heroes. Lou Brock 06 18 1939-09 06 2020 The Man The Myth The Legend Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt Old RTS and for its time amazing graphics but now… ouch those are potatoes, not men or tanks. Still, amazingly fun RTS to play even to this day IMO at least. Breath of Fire III, in my opinion. Simple sprite game with a 3D world that still holds up and in terms of story, gameplay, and enjoyment withstands the test of time, to me. Deus Ex: at the time of its release it was remarked that the graphics were below par, the animation is weird and the art design gave us machine guns that looked like waffle irons. But the game is so good at drawing you in that not only do we not notice these things we’d riot if any of them were to change.
